ho hasn't dreamed of a beach wedding? Particularly, if the beach destination is Grand Cayman Island located in the British West Indies. For many, jetting off to an exotic location with family and friends in tow is a mere fantasy hindered by travel restrictions. For William Stough Rush and Chloe Ashton Sohm, this barely scrapes the surface of their picturesque wedding day. William and Chloe's love story began four years ago at a local Italian eatery. They were engaged in October of 2011 and by December had decided that their February 6, 2012 nuptials were to be held beach side in Grand Cayman. The couple, along with close friends and family, grabbed their passports, assembled what they now refer to as the "A Team" and departed to bring a little piece of the bluegrass – and a whole lot of fun – to the beach. The newlyweds selected a sunset wedding at Tiki Beach located on Seven Mile Beach to serve as the romantic backdrop for their intimate affair. The sand and crashing waves played host to both the ceremony, led by Reverend Arthur Henriquez and the reception. As the sun set on some 50 guests, the couple embarked on their new journey as Chloe made her way down the aisle on the arm of her father, Norbert Sohm, Jr. with the handsome groom anxiously awaiting his soon-to-be wife. A salute to the island's abundant sea grapes, Chloe chose a shade of green for her bridesmaids to enhance the natural environment while tangerine roses and calla lilies used in the bouquets and floral arrangement served as accent colors. As wedding guests made their way into the tented oasis, they settled in their seats to find horse shoes from Churchill Downs serving as place settings. With hand painted Rebecca Graves (cousin of the bride) artwork decorating the programs and announcement, little pieces of their old Kentucky home were sprinkled throughout. After the couple's official rite of passage, the first dance to Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years," guests sipped on Mojitos and Rum Punch (a family favorite) while serenaded by Peggy French's rendition of "Your Face" as an array of local island fare was dished out. After a fun-filled evening of celebration under the stars the happy couple island hopped to Jamaica to begin their honeymoon - and the rest of their lives together.
