What do You feel sets Your practice apart from the others? I think what mostly separates our practice apart from others is the feeling that a patient gets meeting our physician, advanced nurse practitioner, RNs, surgical technologists and support staff. They are overwhelmed at everyone's professionalism, knowledge, compassion and friendly attitudes. Our offce knows that we deliver state-of-the-art cosmetic services that rival anything in any city in the United States. We strive to have cutting-edge technologies available long before they become mainstream. Our patients are never recommended to have a treatment or procedure that we don't feel will provide them with the results they desire. We are very careful to frmly establish what the possible outcomes and limitations are for everything we do. Since we offer the full spectrum of surgeries and minimally invasive and noninvasive modalities, we feel it is our responsibility to provide many options and price points for each cosmetic concern. What noninvasive procedures give us the best results for maintaining a fresh look? The latest noninvasive technologies for both fat reduction and skin tightening have used some type of radiofrequency energy applied through the skin. Radio waves interact with fat and skin producing heat that induces fat cells to expel their stored fat, and creates new collagen in the dermis of the skin which leads to a tightened appearance. As a consultant to Exilis™, I have been fortunate to contribute to the early protocols we developed to improve results of this noninvasive procedure. The newest radiofrequency device is Vanquish™. This machine is essentially an array of radiofrequency emitters encased in moldable plastic articulating panel that can be positioned around the waist. The radio waves penetrate to the fat, heating it to a temperature that causes a delayed death of the fat cell with elimination of the fat inside the cell by the normal metabolic pathways of the body. A warm feeling during the half hour procedure is extremely tolerable. I am a Consultant and Luminary provider to several companies in the aesthetic plastic surgery space. As an investigator for two breast implant manufacturers, I was able to acquire a great deal of experience with both round silicone and shaped silicone breast implants some 10 years before they were released for free and unrestricted use by all plastic surgeons. Presently I am involved with ThermiAesthetic™, as a member of their clinical advisor team looking at the early use of radiofrequency probes placed under the skin for skin tightening, fat reduction, as well as reduction of nerve-related muscle movement similar to a Botox® like effect. I am also working with Harvest Technologies for the use of platelet rich plasma for cosmetic uses, and presenting the data from these endeavors at meetings throughout the United States. Patients are always looking for the best results that are least invasive with the shortest downtime. I am continuing to develop such procedures, as in the Ageless MiniLift, to ft into the busy lifestyles of our patients, minimizing downtime and achieving beautiful, rejuvenating results. Not every client is going to be a candidate for every procedure, but we pride ourselves in offering as many successful options as possible, and being honest with expectations and realistic possibilities.
